Visiting our School

We welcome parents and members of the community to visit our school. To ensure the safety of our students and staff, and to limit disruption of instruction, please contact the principal or an administrator to pre-arrange classroom visits. Visitors are expected to observe school rules and engage respectfully with all employees. Parents and guardians may not interact with any children other than their own unless given explicit permission to do so prior to the visit.

For safety reasons, state law requires schools to register all guests who enter school property. Visitors should park in designated areas when possible and check-in at the office to get a visitor’s pass. Unauthorized persons are prohibited from entering or remaining on school grounds. If court-issued restraining orders exist which limit a parent’s access to visiting their child or receiving information about their child, the custodial parent must provide the school principal with a copy of such an order. Only persons listed in a student’s record are permitted to pick up the student without specific parental permission.

The principal or designee may request that any individual who is causing a disruption, including exhibiting volatile, hostile, aggressive, or offensive behavior, immediately leave school grounds.

Morning Drop Off and Afternoon Pick Up

The safety of our students is our number one priority.  Please adhere to the following protocols when dropping off or picking up students:

  1. Pull into the valet line and drop your child off by the office if you are not parking your vehicle and getting out to walk your child to the line or cafeteria.
  2. Please refrain from dropping your child off in the middle of the parking area. This is dangerous and could result in an accident.
  3. Please enter only at the northern most entrance (the second school driveway) that has the Enter sign posted and exit from the two exits (the first driveway on 33rd Street at the front of the school or the exit at the side of the school onto McKee).
  4. Please follow the speed limit (5 miles per hour) at all times.
  5. Do not park along the red curb in the Drop Off/ Pick Up area the boarders around the school.  This area is for Drop Off and Pick Up only.  If you are early and are waiting to pick up students, you must park your car in a visitor parking space or circle around until your student arrives at the Pick Up area.
  6. The school gate opens at 7:45. Do not drop your child off outside the gate before 7:45 am. Even if other adults and students are standing at the gate, it is your responsibility to supervise your child at all times before they enter the campus.
  7. Breakfast is served from 7:45 am to 8:15 am daily in our school cafeteria.  Having students attend for breakfast is a good way to ensure your student is on time for school everyday.
  8. Please be patient.  The safety of our students is in all our hands.  Modeling this patience is a great way to teach your children the importance of being respectful and kind to others.
